South-east France. June 2008. An accident at the railway tracks near the town Massongy in the Haute Saone Department. It happened at the 4 p.m. The School Bus was carrying students from the city of Margencel for industrial work experience to the shores of Lake Geneva. He entered the crossing when the barriers had already come down. Apparently, the driver was confident that he would be able to slip by. But he failed. The bus was caught right in the crossing. The driver of the train, coming from the French town of Evian and heading to Geneva, Switzerland, said he saw the school bus too late. The bus was literally cut in half - the back of the bus was cut off, the roof collapsed.

During the rush hour, the subway is crowded. In the electric train going on the ""Avtozavodskaya"" - ""Paveletskaya"" track more than a thousand people were traveling. At 8 o'clock 40 minutes after the train left the ""Avtozavodskaya"" station, in the second car an explosion thundered.August 31, 2004. January 10, 2008, the largest highway in The U.S. was blocked with an unprecedented traffic accident. Early in the morning, more than 200 machines ran into each other on the highway in the state of Florida. According to preliminary information, the accident occurred because of almost zero visibility on the highway due to heavy fog. The fog took till noon to dissipate, and all the time the gigantic pile of metal continued to grow. Dozens of people were injured, and two died. Still, monetarily and fiscally, the accident is still considered the worst highway catastrophe in Florida’s history.

On a Sunday morning in April on a highway near the city of Barcelona, in the province of Anzo?tegui, in the north-east of Venezuela, there was yet a terrible road accident with loss of life.
The accident happened on Thursday on the main highway between Toronto and Montreal. Heavy snowfall had reduced visibility to 300 meters. Due to the ice, a trailer truck jackknifed and blocked the way. Then a car hit the jackknifed truck and soon the situation became unmanageable.Because of the poor visibility and the slick road surface, drivers couldn’t see the wreckage of piled up vehicles in front of them until it was usually too late to stop. To avoid serious crashes they could only try to swerve off the road, which only a few managed to do. Average speed on the highway under such weather conditions is about 35 to 40 mph, but it took only 20 minutes to have about a half mile of the highway look like a snow covered vehicle junk yard.
September 2002. The wreck of a passenger train in India. The most terrible accident in the history of the country.More than a hundred people died. The tragedy occurred in the eastern state of Bihar, near the Rafigang station. While moving across a bridge, a train coming from Calcutta to Delhi, was derailed. Four of the 18 cars of the Express fell into the Dhavi River. At this point the train had nearly one thousand passengers.
May 28, 2008. Outskirts of Boston. Evening. Rush Hour. Near Newton Station, two commuter trains collided head on. Despite the crash and the fire that broke, there were no fatalities. Most passengers escaped with minor bruises. 14 people were taken to hospital with broken bones and other injuries.
A winter car race was going full tilt when one of the cars slid off the track, climbed a snowbank and rolled over. Spectators hurry to help the unlucky racer and, despite a jammed door, are able, eventually, to get thedazed and injured driver out of the wreck. And just in time, it turns out, as another car crashes into the rolled-over racecar just moments later.
